Man and toddler injured in Grand Haven dirt bike crash
A man driving a dirt bike and his 20-month-old passenger were injured in a crash on Wednesday.
Ottawa County Sheriff’s Office deputies responded around 6:05 p.m. to Mercury Drive near 148th Avenue.
Investigators said the 25-year-old Grand Haven man was riding east on the bike path along Mercury Drive with the child as a passenger. A Ford work truck driven by a 28-year-old West Olive man was leaving a business parking lot when the vehicles collided.
Both vehicles were moving slowly, according to deputies.
Neither the man nor the child was wearing a helmet. Life EMS transported them to hospitals for treatment. The work truck driver was not injured.
The sheriff’s office said the crash remains under investigation.
