Privacy Policy
How we handle and protect your information.
Last Updated: July 11, 2026
1. Introduction
Christopher Trainor & Associates, doing business as The Michigan Legal Center (“the Firm,” “we,” “us,” or “our”), provides this Privacy Policy to describe how we handle information submitted through michiganlegalcenter.com (the “Site”). If you do not agree with this Policy, do not use the Site.
This Policy does not apply to information you share with us after becoming a client under a written engagement agreement. That information is governed by the Michigan Rules of Professional Conduct and applicable attorney-client privilege.
2. Do Not Send Confidential Information
Do not send confidential or privileged information through the Site’s contact forms, chat, email, or phone until we confirm in writing that we are able to represent you. Submitting information through the Site does not create an attorney-client relationship. Before an attorney-client relationship is formed, we must complete a conflict check and execute a written engagement letter. The Firm handles information received from prospective clients consistent with Michigan Rule of Professional Conduct 1.18.
Messages sent to us by email, contact form, or chat are not end-to-end encrypted and should not be assumed confidential.
3. Information We Collect
- Information you voluntarily provide through contact forms or chat (name, telephone number, email address, and any details you include about your matter).
- Information you voluntarily provide when requesting downloadable content (email address and, if provided, name).
- Standard website usage information collected through analytics (such as IP address, device and browser type, pages viewed, and referring URL).
- First-party lead-attribution information, such as the page where a visit began, referral source, campaign parameters, pages leading to a case-evaluation form, the form and call-to-action used, and a random visitor or session identifier.
- Internal intake outcomes, such as whether an inquiry was contacted, qualified, referred, declined, or became a client.
The Site does not require visitor accounts and does not use session-replay tools. We use first-party local storage and session storage to preserve attribution information across pages. Session information generally ends with the browser session; first- and last-touch attribution is refreshed after 90 days. A random first-party visitor identifier may remain until you clear your browser storage.
We do not send names, email addresses, phone numbers, form messages, or case details to Google Analytics. Analytics events use limited information such as page paths, campaign source, form identifier, and call-to-action location.
4. How We Use Information
To respond to inquiries, run conflict checks, evaluate and route prospective matters, understand which pages and campaigns produce useful inquiries, improve the Site, send you downloadable content you request through the Site, comply with legal and ethical obligations, and maintain the Site.
5. Sharing
We use third-party service providers to host the Site and support our services. We do not sell personal information.
No mobile information will be shared with third parties/affiliates for marketing/promotional purposes. All other categories exclude text messaging originator opt-in data and consent; this information will not be shared with any third parties.
We may disclose information as required by law or to comply with the Michigan Rules of Professional Conduct.
6. Minors
The Site is not directed to children under 13. If you believe a child under 13 has provided information through the Site, contact us and we will delete it.
7. Security
We use reasonable measures to protect personal information. No method of internet transmission is completely secure.
8. Your Rights
Depending on where you live, you may have rights to access, correct, or delete your personal information. To exercise any such rights, contact us using the information below.
9. Changes
We may update this Policy by posting a revised version with an updated “Last updated” date.
