Woman killed in Newaygo County crash

A 76-year-old Twin Lake woman died Thursday, Sept. 10, after her SUV collided with a pickup truck.

Michigan State Police said the crash happened at Warner Avenue and 80th Street in Sheridan Township.

A preliminary investigation found that she was driving east on 80th Street and didn’t stop at Warner Avenue. She crashed on Warner Avenue with a 38-year-old Muskegon man.

She was pronounced dead at the scene and the other driver suffered minor injuries.

The roadway was closed for several hours while troopers investigated and cleared the scene. Police said alcohol and drugs were not believed to be factors.
