Woman killed in Jonesville Road crash
A 67-year-old Quincy woman died and another driver was injured in a head-on crash Friday morning.
Branch County Sheriff’s Office deputies responded around 5:13 a.m. Sept. 18 to Jonesville Road near Ridge Road.
The preliminary investigation found that Janet Murray’s vehicle collided head-on with a vehicle driven by Travis Morrow, 51, of Coldwater. Murray was pronounced dead at the scene. Morrow was taken to Insight Health with minor injuries.
“I am saddened to report the loss of life in this morning’s tragic crash on Jonesville Road,” said Sheriff Fred Blankenship. “My deepest condolences go out to the family and loved ones of the victim during this difficult time.”
Coldwater police, Life Care Ambulance, the Quincy Fire Department and Branch County Central Dispatch assisted.
The sheriff’s office continues to investigate the circumstances surrounding the crash.
