Two Holland teens seriously injured in Park Township rollover crash
Two Holland teenagers were seriously injured when the Jeep they were in rolled over.
According to the Ottawa County Sheriff’s Office, the crash happened about 11:10 a.m. at Ottawa Beach Road and 152nd Avenue.
Deputies said a 17-year-old Holland girl was driving a 2005 Jeep west on Ottawa Beach Road when it went through a red light and collided with a 2015 Chrysler Town and Country traveling south on 152nd Avenue.
The Jeep rolled onto its roof, struck a 2020 Chevrolet Silverado traveling east on Ottawa Beach Road and came to rest upside down, deputies said.
Ambulances took the Jeep’s driver and passenger, an 18-year-old Holland woman, to local hospitals with serious injuries. Neither was wearing a seat belt, deputies said.
The 16-year-old Holland boy driving the Chrysler was not injured. The driver and passenger in the Silverado, both from New York, also were not injured.
The sheriff’s office is investigating the crash.
Michigan no-fault benefits and injury claims after a crash
Under MCL 500.3105, personal protection insurance (PIP) benefits may be available for accidental bodily injury arising from a motor-vehicle accident without regard to fault. A separate claim for noneconomic damages is different from PIP benefits. Under MCL 500.3135, such a claim generally requires death, serious impairment of body function or permanent serious disfigurement.
