Pontiac man killed in Dixie Highway rollover crash
Jeffrey Euceda-Cruz, 24, died early Sunday after he was ejected from a car in a rollover crash.
Oakland County Sheriff’s Office investigators said the single-vehicle crash happened at 2:01 a.m. Aug. 30 on Dixie Highway.
Euceda-Cruz, of Pontiac, was driving a 2010 Nissan GT-R south on Dixie Highway when he lost control, investigators said. The car crossed the northbound lanes, hit a curb and rolled over, ejecting him.
Deputies and Independence Township firefighters attempted lifesaving measures, but he was pronounced dead at the scene. The Oakland County Medical Examiner’s Office took custody of his body, and an autopsy was scheduled.
Investigators said Euceda-Cruz was not wearing a seat belt. They believe excessive speed was a factor but had not determined whether alcohol contributed.
The sheriff’s office used a drone to map and document the crash scene. The Michigan Department of Transportation Safety Service Patrol assisted with traffic control.
The Oakland County Sheriff’s Office Crash Reconstruction Unit continues to investigate. Anyone who witnessed the crash or has information can call 248-858-4950.
