Passenger taken to hospital after California Township rollover crash
One person was hospitalized following a rollover crash in California Township on Monday.
According to the Branch County Sheriff’s Office, deputies were dispatched at about 2:16 p.m. Aug. 10 to South Fremont Road for a two vehicle rollover crash.
A 2010 Dodge Journey was headed west on Southern Road when a mechanical problem prevented the driver from stopping at the stop sign. The car kept going into the intersection and collided with a northbound 2023 Toyota Tacoma.
The Tacoma was pushed out of the roadway and flipped on its roof.
A passenger in the Tacoma was transported by LifeCare Ambulance to Parkview Hospital in Fort Wayne for treatment of non-life-threatening injuries. The Journey’s driver and two minor passengers were not injured.
The Fremont Fire Department, Fremont Police Department and LifeCare Ambulance assisted deputies at the scene.
The crash remains under investigation.
