Holland woman airlifted after U.S. 31 crash in Ottawa County
A 33-year-old Holland woman was airlifted to a hospital Tuesday after a crash on U.S. 31.
The crash happened about 8:15 p.m. on southbound U.S. 31 at Croswell Street in Port Sheldon Township. Ottawa County sheriff’s deputies said a Ford Explorer was traveling south behind a Nissan Titan when the Titan pulled to the right side of the highway and the Explorer moved left.
When the Explorer returned to the highway, a Chevrolet Silverado traveling south hit it, causing it to roll in a ditch. Firefighters extricated the Silverado driver, who was flown to an area hospital in serious but stable condition, according to the sheriff’s office.
Deputies said the driver of a white 2016 Nissan Titan left before first responders arrived. Investigators are asking anyone who witnessed the crash or has information about the Titan to contact the Ottawa County Sheriff’s Office at 616-738-4000.
Both directions of U.S. 31 were closed during the investigation. The crash remains under investigation.
