Gladwin man dies in 9 mile road rollover crash
John Elemer Elliot, 55, of Gladwin died after a single-vehicle rollover crash Wednesday.
The Midland County Sheriff’s Office said the crash happened about 2:25 p.m. at North 9 Mile and West Nielsen roads in Jerome Township.
The preliminary investigation indicates that Elliot was driving a 2016 Jeep Wrangler north on North 9 Mile Road when he lost control and crashed into a ditch. The car hit the ditch, became airborne and rolled several times, ejecting Elliot.
Emergency medical personnel took Elliot to MyMichigan Medical Center with life-threatening injuries. He died a short time later.
Toxicology results are pending to determine whether alcohol or drugs contributed to the crash.
The Jerome Township Fire Department, MyMichigan EMS and Coles Wrecker assisted sheriff’s office personnel at the scene.
