Canton pedestrian hospitalized after being hit by car

A 42-year-old Canton woman was hospitalized after being hit by a car while crossing Warren Road on Thursday evening.

The crash happened about 7:14 p.m. Sept. 24 near Burgundy Street, according to the Canton Police Department. A 33-year-old Ann Arbor woman was driving a Hyundai Elantra west on Warren Road when the car hit the pedestrian.

She was taken to a local hospital.

The department’s Accident Investigation Team responded, and the crash remains under investigation. Police said alcohol and drugs do not appear to have been factors.
