Belmont man, 66, dies after pickup hits tree in Wright Township
Ottawa County Sheriff’s Office is investigating a fatal crash on 8th Avenue after a pickup truck collided with a tree on Monday.
A 66-year-old Belmont man was driving his pickup down 8th Avenue near Garfield Street on Monday, Aug. 31.
Sheriff deputies responded to the crash around 4 p.m. An initial investigation found that the man was driving north on 8th Avenue when he drifted off the road just north of the intersection and hit the tree.
Emergency responders took him to a hospital in critical condition, where he later died. No one else was in the pickup.
His name was not immediately released. The crash remains under investigation.
