83-year-old Holland man dies after three vehicle crash
An 83-year-old Holland man died after a three vehicle crash in Holland on Friday.
Holland Department of Public Safety officers and firefighters responded around 3 p.m. to 7th Street and Central Avenue.
A preliminary investigation indicates a 2007 Chevrolet Silverado driven by a 27-year-old Dorr man was traveling west on 7th Street when a 2016 Honda CR-V driven by the Holland man traveled south on Central Avenue and proceeded across 7th Street into the Silverado’s path.
The Silverado lost control after the collision and struck a Tesla Model 3 that was also traveling west on 7th Street, officials said.
The Honda driver and the Silverado driver were taken to Holland Hospital for treatment. The Honda driver later died in the hospital’s emergency department.
The Tesla driver, a 35-year-old woman from Wyoming, and her passenger were not injured.
Witness statements indicated that the Silverado’s speed may have contributed to the crash, police said. The crash remains under investigation.
