Two South Carolina motorcyclists killed in U.S. 41 crash in Houghton County
Two South Carolina motorcyclists were killed Wednesday in a crash on U.S. 41 in Houghton County.
Michigan State Police troopers from the Calumet Post responded around 12:30 p.m. Aug. 5 near Golf Course Road in Osceola Township.
Police said a 45-year-old woman was driving south in an SUV with two children when she failed to realize that a pickup truck ahead of her had stopped to. The SUV entered the northbound lane to avoid the pickup and collided with two motorcycles.
The motorcyclists, a 65-year-old man and a 36-year-old woman, were killed. Their identities were not released.
The SUV driver and the children were evaluated by EMS and released. The investigation remains ongoing.
