Motorcyclist dies in M-89 crash in Ross Township
A 47-year-old Dowling man died Tuesday night, Sept. 8, after losing control of his motorcycle and hitting a guardrail.
Michigan State Police Paw Paw Post troopers said the crash happened about 10:15 p.m. on M-89 near 46th Street in Ross Township.
The preliminary investigation, including witness accounts, indicates he was riding at high speed before losing control. The road was wet from rain.
He was wearing a helmet and was pronounced dead at the scene.
Police say excessive speed may have contributed to the crash. Alcohol and drugs do not appear to be factors, and the investigation remains ongoing.
State police reminded motorists to adjust their speed for weather and road conditions and urged motorcyclists to wear properly fitted helmets and protective gear.
