Motorcycle, semi-truck crash closes Lodge Freeway in Detroit

A crash involving a motorcycle and a semi-truck closed the southbound Lodge Freeway during Detroit’s Wednesday morning commute.

Michigan State Police troopers responded about 6:50 a.m. Sept. 2 to southbound M-10 near Livernois Avenue in Detroit. All southbound traffic was diverted off the freeway at Livernois while first responders worked at the scene.

The freeway remained closed as of 8:42 a.m. The Michigan Department of Transportation recommended traveling east on McNichols Road, south on Linwood Street and then returning to M-10. Delays of up to an hour were reported shortly before 8 a.m.

Authorities had not announced what caused the crash or when the freeway would reopen.
