Horse caught after truck overturns in Wheatfield Township

Two roads in Wheatfield Township were briefly closed on Wednesday afternoon following a truck hauling horses tipping over and at least one horse escaping.

According to authorities, the crash happened around 3:30 p.m. on Wednesday, Aug. 12 around Williamston and Howell Roads in Ingham County.

At least one horse escaped from the truck and was briefly on the loose following the crash.

Officials have not said what led to the crash or if anyone was injured. The roads were temporarily closed to traffic but have since reopened.

The Ingham County Sheriff’s Department, Northeast Ingham Emergency Service Authority and Ingham Township first responders all responded to the scene.
