A Detroit vehicle owner was stabbed during an early-morning carjacking Wednesday before the stolen vehicle later crashed at Livernois and Waverly, FOX 2 Detroit reported.

Detroit police said the carjacking happened in the 15300 block of Hartwell at about 5:30 a.m. July 15. The short report did not describe how the attack began.

The owner was stabbed and taken to a hospital after the vehicle was stolen, police said. The person's condition was not reported.

FOX 2 said the stolen vehicle later crashed at Livernois and Waverly. The report did not identify the vehicle, say whether anyone was hurt in the crash, or state whether a suspect was in custody.
