Detroit, MI (August 6, 2023) - The Detroit Police Department was alerted of a car accident that resulted in injuries on Sunday morning, August 6th.
The Detroit Police Department and the Michigan Department of Transportation were called to the scene near the Wixom Road exit at 10:25 a.m. Since officials believe at least two vehicles are involved, they have blocked off nearly all lanes of traffic while they investigate.
Paramedics were dispatched to the scene of the crash and treated the wounded, but officials have not commented on the patients' conditions.
The DPD has issued a request for anyone who may have witnessed the events to come forward. Meanwhile, authorities have launched an investigation and will share more details as they become available.
We are thinking of the injured and their families.
The number of auto accidents has been rising steadily over the past few years, both nationally and in many specific states. Unfortunately, many incidents today might be prevented if unsafe practices like speeding, irresponsible driving, and driver distraction were less common.
However, you can make a claim and seek compensation for your injuries and other damages if the driver was negligent or reckless. Automobile accident victims frequently deal with both long-term physical pain and suffering and considerable financial challenges. Even in low-velocity or seemingly small occurrences, serious injuries such as brain injuries, burns, spinal cord injuries, shattered bones, internal bleeding, and other potentially fatal or permanent traumas are not uncommon. Victims frequently experience PTSD, anxiety, frustration, and uncertainty after having their life turned upside down.
However, if you're trying to make ends meet after a car accident that was clearly the fault of another motorist, Michigan's personal injury law could be perplexing and convoluted. When victims try to negotiate with insurer adjusters on their own, the adjusters will do anything they can to lowball the victims' claims.
Hiring legal counsel might increase your chances of getting the money you need following an accident. Hiring a lawyer on contingency also doesn't need any money in advance. Your attorney will not receive pay until your case is resolved favorably or you win in court. Between 30% and 40% of whatever settlement money you get will go to your lawyer. If your claim is refused, it's quite unlikely that you'll have to pay for legal representation.
