Detroit, MI (July 29, 2023) - The Detroit Police Department responded to a multiple-vehicle accident on Michigan State Route 131 early on Saturday, July 29.

The incident, according to preliminary reports from the Detroit Police Department, took place at roughly 10:45 a.m. on the right side of northbound Highway 131 near Ramp Market Avenue. The DPD and the Michigan Department of Transportation report that officials blocked off virtually all right-hand lanes and then requested assistance from fire rescue and EMS.

Despite the rapid response of the paramedics, very little is known about the drivers or their injuries. As for the other injured people, it's unclear if they sought medical attention.

DPD has made an open call for anyone who may have information to help them with their investigation.

The injured and their families are in our thoughts.

Car Accidents in Detroit

Those who suffer injuries in multi-vehicle collisions often experience permanent psychological and bodily changes as a result. Careless drivers inflict serious harm to others and substantial economic losses for residents of cities like Detroit, Grand Rapids, and others.

Damage to the brain, disfiguring scars or burns, spinal cord injuries, broken bones, internal bleeding, and a host of other medical problems can result from even minor accidents. Some accident victims experience not just bodily harm, but also mental health issues including depression and PTSD.

The good news is that victims of accidents for whom no one is to blame may be entitled to legal redress and various types of economic and non-economic damages:

  • Income loss or earnings lost as a result of being unable to work.
  • Medical treatment, stays in the hospital, and physical therapy, both present and future costs.
  • Long-term care costs, such as medication, medical equipment, and supplies.
  • Intangible losses and costs, such as mental anguish, are not taken into account when calculating these types of damages.

Accident victims, whose lives may be forever changed, should seek the advice of a skilled attorney. Most attorneys that specialize in accident cases work on a contingency fee basis, meaning their clients don't have to worry about paying anything until they win their case. You and your attorney will likely negotiate a settlement that is much larger than what you might have won without legal representation.

Christopher Trainor & Associates is ready to provide its expertise at no cost to you in order to help you get what you deserve from the legal system. If you or a loved one has been injured in an accident, you need an attorney who has experience winning personal injury cases like ours. Should you or a loved one sustain injuries as a result of another driver's carelessness, we urge you to get in touch with our Detroit area offices as soon as possible by calling 248-886-8650.
