Car Accidents in Michigan

Roseville, MI – Two-Vehicle Crash Reported at 10 Mile Rd & Leach RdEach year, car accidents affect thousands of lives in Michigan, ranging from minor fender-benders to serious, injury-causing collisions. In 2022, Michigan saw over 1,000 fatalities and tens of thousands of reported injuries from vehicle crashes, many of which occurred at intersections.

Many people don’t realize how varied the consequences of a crash can be. Here are some common issues victims face:

  • Back Injuries: These can range from herniated discs to spinal fractures. Back injuries often require extensive physical therapy and can limit mobility for long periods or permanently.
  • Head Injuries: From concussions to skull fractures, head trauma can be life-changing. Some individuals experience memory problems, mood changes, or long-term cognitive impairments after a crash.
  • Airbag-Related Injuries: While airbags save lives, they can also cause injuries such as burns, abrasions, or broken facial bones. These are more common in high-speed impacts.
  • Injuries to Children: If children are passengers, they are especially vulnerable due to their smaller size. Proper car seat use is critical, but even then, kids can suffer from neck, head, or internal injuries.
  • Increased Anxiety or Panic Disorders: Many victims report experiencing panic attacks, flashbacks, or difficulty driving again. Emotional recovery can take longer than physical healing.
  • Injury Complications: Existing medical conditions may worsen due to trauma. For example, someone with arthritis might experience increased joint pain or mobility issues following a crash.
