Car Accidents in Michigan

Detroit, MI – Vehicle Collision Reported on Kentucky StA car crash can turn your life upside down in an instant. In Michigan, vehicle collisions are a leading cause of accidental injuries and deaths every year, leaving countless individuals to cope with the aftermath. When you are injured in a car accident, you have the right to file a personal injury claim against the party responsible for the crash.

Michigan’s legal system applies a concept called "comparative negligence" to personal injury cases arising from accidents. Under this rule, when you seek compensation for your injuries, you must show that the other driver was at least partly responsible for causing the accident. However, your level of fault will directly affect your ability to recover compensation.

If you are found to be more than 50% responsible for the accident, you are not eligible to receive non-economic damages. These damages include compensation for pain and suffering, emotional distress, and loss of enjoyment of life. Nevertheless, even if you share some of the blame, you can still pursue economic damages. This includes covering your medical expenses, lost wages, and other financial losses that resulted from the accident.

It is essential to demonstrate that the negligence of another driver contributed to your crash to maximize your recovery. Working with an experienced Detroit car accident lawyer can be instrumental in building a strong case. An attorney will help you gather crucial evidence, such as police reports, witness statements, and expert opinions, to prove the other party’s fault and minimize your own liability.
