Royal Oak, MI (October 13, 2024) – A 44-year-old man from Pontiac was fatally struck by an Amtrak train in the Royal Oak area on Saturday morning, October 12.
Official reports indicate that at around 9:15 a.m., a man was struck by a train at West 6th Street near South Center Street. The man was severely hurt as a result of the crash. He was transported by ambulance to Corewell Health/William Beaumont Hospital for emergency medical care. Authorities confirmed that he died from his injuries after arriving. The incident is being investigated by the Royal Oaks Police Department at this time.
