Car Accidents in Michigan

Wayne, MI – Accident Reported on I-75 near McNichols RdEach year, hundreds of thousands of vehicle collisions occur on Michigan’s roads. Sadly, many of these accidents are the result of someone else’s carelessness or negligence. When you are injured in an accident caused by another person’s actions, it is important to seek legal guidance from an experienced Michigan car accident attorney. Having the right attorney by your side ensures that your rights are protected and you receive the compensation you deserve for your injuries and damages.

In Michigan, to file a personal injury claim, you must prove that negligence occurred at the time of the accident. This involves demonstrating several key elements: first, that the other driver owed you a duty of care; second, that they breached that duty; third, that this breach directly caused the accident; and finally, that you suffered injuries and damages as a result. By proving these elements, you can pursue financial compensation for your losses, including medical bills, lost wages, and other accident-related expenses.

To maximize your compensation, you need to show that the defendant's negligence caused the crash. Michigan follows a comparative negligence law, which means that even if you share some responsibility for the accident, you can still file a personal injury claim. However, the compensation you receive will be reduced by the percentage of fault attributed to you. For example, if you are found to be 20% at fault for the accident, your compensation will be reduced by 20%. This is why it is crucial to have a lawyer who can advocate for you and minimize the amount of fault assigned to you, allowing you to recover the maximum possible compensation.
