Lansing, MI (September 6, 2024) - Two people lost their lives as a result of a motor vehicle accident in Shiawassee County. The collision took place at around 9:00 p.m. on Tuesday evening, September 3.
Reports from the Michigan State Police indicate that a motor vehicle collision took place on Byron Road near Cole Road. The incident prompted authorities to shut down the roadway. Further investigations show that a 2014 Chevrolet Malibu was traveling northbound on the roadway when it collided with a 2011 GMC Sierra pickup truck head-on. A 69-year-old man and a 58-year-old woman were killed in the accident. Both of the victims were pronounced deceased at the scene. A 53-year-old man was transported to an area hospital for emergency care. The incident is under investigation by local law enforcement officials.
