Wells Twp., MI (May 2, 2024) – A man from Escanaba lost his life as a result of a fatal accident that occurred in Wells Township on Monday, April 29. The Michigan State Police and area firefighters were called to the scene of the accident at around 4:00 p.m.
According to official reports, an ambulance with Rampart EMS was traveling westbound on US Highway 2/41. For reasons unknown, the driver of a Chevrolet Silverado attempted to pass the ambulance on the roadway. As a result, the vehicle collided with a Dodge Ram. One person involved in the accident was fatally injured. The victim died while at the scene. Two victims were transported to OSF St. Francis Hospital & Medical Group for emergency medical treatment. At this time, the incident is under investigation.
