Cass Co., MI (March 9, 2024) - A 67-year-old man from Elkhart, Indiana, died as a result of a motor vehicle accident that occurred in Southwest Michigan on Thursday evening, March 7. At around 6:50 p.m., the Cass County Sheriff’s Office was called to the scene of a motor vehicle accident on Cassopolis Road.
According to official reports, a motor vehicle driven by a 20-year-old woman from Osceola, Indiana, was traveling north on the roadway when it collided with a deer. The impact of the collision caused the deer to be propelled across the roadway, where it went through the windshield of another driver’s car. Authorities arrived at the scene and closed off the roadway near Bullhand Street. The driver of the second vehicle suffered fatal injuries and was pronounced deceased at the scene. At this time, the incident is being investigated.
