Menominee Twp., MI (February 3, 2024) – The Menominee Police Department confirmed that injuries were reported as a result of a car crash that occurred on Wednesday afternoon, January 31. Calls for help came in at approximately 3:50 p.m.
According to reports provided by the Menominee County Sheriff’s Department, a vehicle and a train collided in the area of Elmwood Road and US Highway 41. In response to the crash, the police and firefighters arrived at the scene and immediately shut down the roadway while working to remove the involved vehicles. Authorities confirmed that a 31-year-old woman was trapped inside of her vehicle after it overturned. The victim was freed by firefighters and transported to Aurora Medical Center for emergency treatment. The accident is currently being investigated.
