Summit Twp., MI (January 27, 2024) – A fatal accident reported on Friday morning in Jackson County claimed one man’s life. The Jackson County Sheriff's Department responded to the scene of the accident at approximately 5:35 a.m. on January 26.
According to official reports, a collision involving three cars occurred on US Highway 127 near Hart Road. Investigations determined that a 25-year-old man from Morenci, Michigan, was driving southbound on the highway when he crossed over the center line and struck two northbound vehicles. One of the drivers of the northbound vehicles, identified as a 64-year-old man, was fatally injured in the crash. He was pronounced deceased at the scene. The second northbound driver was transported to Henry Ford Hospital for the treatment of serious injuries. The 25-year-old was charged with operating while intoxicated, causing death. At this time, the incident is being investigated.
