Columbus Twp., MI (January 13, 2024) – Authorities confirmed that a pedestrian lost their life as a result of a motor vehicle accident that took place in Macomb County on Thursday evening. At around 7:45 p.m. on January 11, the Richmond Fire Department and the St. Clair County Sheriff’s Office responded to the scene of a crash on Gratiot Avenue.

According to official reports, a pedestrian was struck by a vehicle on the roadway near Redwood Avenue in Columbus Township. The pedestrian was severely hurt. Richmond/Lenox EMS responded to the scene to care for the victim. However, the pedestrian passed away from their injuries. At this time, the Sheriff’s Office is investigating the incident.
