Fire Incidents in Michigan

Macomb Twp., MI – Fire Incident on Leanna Dr Ends in InjuriesThere has been a dramatic rise in the number of fires and deaths across our state. As a result, the Michigan Fire Inspectors Society estimates an 11% rise in fire-related fatalities this year compared to the averages from the previous five years. In Michigan, 76 people have been killed in fires since the end of June, according to the Michigan Fire Inspectors Society.

Approximately 5% of fatal fires began in kitchens, while a quarter began in living rooms. In the event of a house or apartment fire, the local fire service will investigate any cause of the fire, regardless of its cause. In addition, authorities may use these findings to determine who is responsible.

In addition, a property owner can often file a claim with their own insurance company to recover the costs associated with the damage. An independent investigation by the insurance company will be carried out to determine the extent of the fire damage and estimate the probable costs of restoration or replacement; however, these adjusters have a bad reputation for providing inadequate compensation to victims of catastrophic home fire losses.

In Michigan, if a home fire has damaged your property or killed a loved one, you may be able to pursue legal action. By taking precautions and conducting routine inspections, fire-related incidents can be prevented. Additionally, if you are burned or inhaled smoke from a fire in a private or rented home, you may be able to sue for negligence.
