Ann Arbor, MI (January 11, 2024) – A speeding motorist caused a crash on Monday evening in Ann Arbor that sent two people to area hospitals with injuries. The accident was reported to law enforcement at approximately 7:45 p.m. on January 8.
According to reports provided by the Ann Arbor Police Department, a 23-year-old driver was traveling east on West Stadium Boulevard. The vehicle was traveling at a high speed when it ran a red light and struck a second vehicle near the intersection of South Seventh Street. Two people involved in the accident were injured. The victims were transported to area hospitals by ambulance for emergency care.
The 23-year-old driver was taken into police custody. Authorities believe that alcohol played a role in the accident occurring. Authorities reported that one person in the speeding vehicle fled the scene of the crash. Investigations are currently ongoing.
