Portage, MI (January 9, 2024) – A young child was severely injured as a result of a dog attack that took place in Portage on Sunday afternoon, January 7. The police, firefighters, and emergency medical services were all called to the scene of the incident, which occurred on Pleasant Drive.
Reports show that a four-year-old boy was attacked by a dog in the 1900 block of the roadway. The child sustained multiple puncture wounds due to the attack. Authorities arrived at the scene and located the boy was located at the scene semi-conscious. He was briefly treated at the scene and transported to an area hospital, where he was admitted in critical condition. The Kalamazoo County Animal Control responded to the scene to take the dog.
