Grand Rapids, MI (December 17, 2023) – A wrong-way driver caused a severe accident that sent multiple people to area hospitals with injuries early Saturday morning, December 16. Calls for assistance came in at around 2:15 a.m.

Michigan State Police officers from the sixth district responded to the scene of the accident, which occurred on US Highway 131. Investigations confirmed that a 25-year-old woman was traveling north on the southbound side of US Highway 131 when her vehicle collided with two additional vehicles near Market. Three people were injured as a result of the crash. The victims were transported to area hospitals for emergency care. At this time, investigations into the accident are ongoing.
