Detroit, MI (January 7, 2024) – A fatal accident reported on Friday in Detroit claimed the lives of two drivers. The accident occurred just before 2:30 p.m. on January 5.
According to reports provided by the Detroit Police Department, a Dodge Caravan, driven by an adult female, was heading northbound on Schaefer Highway. As the vehicle passed through the area of Schoolcraft Road, it collided head-on with the second vehicle. News reports show that the second vehicle involved in the accident crossed over the center line of the roadway. The woman died as a result of her injuries.
The second vehicle, identified as a Chrysler sedan, sustained severe damage. The driver of the vehicle, an adult male, was rushed to an area hospital, where he later passed away from his injuries. Two passengers in the Dodge, identified as an adult female and a child, were transported to area hospitals in critical condition. The investigation surrounding the crash is ongoing.
