Lansing, MI (October 13, 2023) - A person was killed Friday morning as they stood by the roadside to inspect their broken-down vehicles.
The Lansing Police Department said that at about 4:50 a.m., they received a call about an incident in the 2700 block of Jolly Road.
Due to the preliminary nature of the inquiry, police have not released any details on the deceased person. But they say that initial findings suggest a passing vehicle hit the individual checking on their stalled car and then sped off.
After the junction of Jolly Road and Sidney Street, news footage recorded a small number of emergency vehicles held off by police tape.
There was a fire engine and an ambulance, as well as officers from the Lansing and East Lansing Police Departments.
Our sincere condolences go out to the deceased victim's loved ones.
