Detroit, MI (September 22, 2023) - On Friday, September 22, officers with the Detroit Police Department received a collision alert and a report of casualties at the scene of an accident involving multiple vehicles on Interstate 75.

According to the Detroit Police Department and the Michigan Department of Transportation, an accident occurred at approximately 4:40 p.m. on the southbound side of the highway near the I-696 transition. Reports of a two-vehicle collision with multiple casualties prompted officials to close all lanes except the left one and request assistance from nearby authorities.

It is unknown how many people were transported to the hospital, but all injured parties were promptly evaluated and treated by paramedics. The authorities are still investigating the incident and will provide additional information as soon as it becomes available.
