Detroit, MI (September 4, 2023) - The eastbound lanes of Interstate 94 were shut down Monday morning, September 4, after several vehicles crashed near the Michigan Highway 39 exit.
The Detroit Police Department received complaints and sent several units to the area. The Michigan Department of Transportation reports that at least two or three vehicles were involved in the accident that led to the closure of the left lanes and ramp lanes in the Wayne County region.
Officers from the Detroit Police Department and the Michigan State Police arrived at the site at about 8:15 a.m. to start their investigation. It is unclear how many people were harmed, but emergency medical technicians from the Detroit region were among those who rushed to the scene.
DPD detectives are continuing their investigation as they wind up interviews with prospective witnesses. In the meantime, no new information has been released.
