Detroit, MI (August 16, 2023) - On the afternoon of Wednesday, August 16, police in Detroit responded to a report of an accident with injuries on the eastbound side of Interstate 96.
At about 4:00 p.m., many vehicles collided on the right shoulder of the road and the ramp leading to Michigan Highway 39, according to reports from the DPD and the Michigan DOT. Authorities initially stated that at least two drivers and a few passengers were involved in the accident that shut down several lanes of traffic and prompted the deployment of first responders.
There were also emergency medical technicians (EMTs) who rushed to the area and were spotted assessing casualties. The officials, meanwhile, have not provided any updates on the victims' situations.
DPD representatives are now handling the investigation into the accident.
