Detroit, MI (August 9, 2023) - On Wednesday morning, August 9, the Detroit Police Department received word of an accident on Interstate 75 with a handful of victim injuries, prompting them to send officers to the site of the incident.
According to reports from the DPD and the Michigan DOT, the accident happened on the southbound lanes of the highway at roughly 10:00 a.m. Authorities first said two drivers and an unknown number of passengers were involved in the crash, which shut down several left lanes and prompted the deployment of emergency services personnel near Caniff.
The victims' present conditions are unknown; however, emergency services also arrived at the scene to evaluate those injured and transfer anybody requiring further care to a local medical facility.
DPD investigators are in charge of the inquiry going forward.
