Detroit, MI (August 5, 2023) - On Saturday evening, August 5, officers from the Detroit Police Department responded to a multiple-vehicle collision on Michigan State Route 131 in the greater Detroit area.
Preliminary reports from the Detroit Police Department indicate that the incident occurred on the right side of southbound Highway 131 at Leonard Street around 6:20 p.m. According to the DPD and the Michigan Department of Transportation, authorities shut down nearly all right-hand lanes before calling for help from fire rescue and emergency medical services.
Although paramedics responded swiftly, little information about the drivers or their injuries has been released. It's also unknown whether or not any of the other injured folks went to the hospital for further treatment.
DPD officials have issued an open invitation to anybody who may have information relevant to their inquiry into the incident's origins.
