Detroit, MI (July 28, 2023) - On Friday evening, July 28, officers with the Detroit Police Department were dispatched to the scene of a multi-vehicle wreck with reported injuries on Interstate 75 in the greater Detroit area.

Per early reports from the Detroit PD, the incident occurred on the right side of I-75 southbound near Michigan Highway 8 at around 9:10 p.m. According to the DPD and the Michigan Department of Transportation, authorities shut down almost all right-hand traffic lanes before requesting assistance from fire rescue teams and EMTs.

Paramedics arrived quickly after DPD police blocked off most of the roadway, but no information about the drivers or their injuries has been released. It's also unknown if any injured victims were sent to a nearby hospital for further care.

DPD officials have urged any witnesses to come forward and help with their ongoing investigation into the surrounding circumstances of this accident.
