Detroit, MI - Motor Vehicle Crash, Injuries Reported on I-75 at Vernor Hwy

Detroit, MI (July 26, 2023) - The Detroit Police Department reported an accident involving injuries near the intersection of Interstate 75 and Vernor Highway on Wednesday afternoon, July 26.

According to the Michigan Department of Transportation, the incident took place at around 3:50 p.m. on I-75 southbound. As a result of the event, the ramp leading to the Ambassador Bridge had to be completely shut down.

Officers from the DPD cordoned off the scene and dispatched medical help. However, there has been no information released on the drivers' conditions. Initial reports indicate that one motorist tried to enter another lane, colliding with the oncoming vehicle.

The DPD is now responsible for conducting the ongoing investigation and plans to release new details to the public when they are learned.
