Dearborn Heights, MI (July 24, 2023) - On Monday afternoon, July 24, in Dearborn Heights, a teenager was struck by a car and dragged while crossing Telegraph Road.

As a result of the collision, the northbound lanes were shut down for a time as police conducted their investigation. According to officers with the Dearborn Police Department, the 16-year-old victim was struck by a car traveling north on Telegraph at noon while crossing the northbound side of the street near Ford Road with another young relative.

The driver, identified only as an adult male, remained on the scene and cooperated with authorities. The victim was rushed to the hospital, but his current condition is unknown.

DPD officers are continuing to investigate the details surrounding the wreck and have not provided further details, though they did ask any witnesses to step forward with additional information.
