Detroit, MI (July 23, 2023) - Injuries were reported from a rear-end collision on southbound I-275 on Sunday, July 23, prompting a Detroit police department response.
The Detroit Police Department and the Michigan Department of Transportation said that it occurred at about 4:25 p.m. on the northbound side of the highway, not far from the Ann Arbor Road exit. Officials halted the road so they could investigate the area, and then they summoned emergency services to arrive.
DPD officers promptly blocked up most of the road, and then paramedics arrived shortly after. There has been no public disclosure of information about the drivers' conditions. It is also unclear whether or if any of the injured were transferred to a different hospital for further care.
The DPD has issued an open invitation to anyone who may have information relevant to their inquiry into the events leading up to the incident.
We are thinking of the injured and their loved ones. Our best wishes are extended to the victims for their complete recovery.
