The Michigan Office of Highway Safety Planning (OHSP) reported that 2,723 motorcycles were involved in traffic accidents in Michigan last year, 122 motorcycle riders lost their lives, and 2,176 were injured. There is nothing like riding on the back of a motorcycle, but the most experienced riders know that it does not come without risk. Anytime you ride a motorcycle, you are at risk of suffering serious or life-threatening injuries more than when driving a car. Regardless of whether you have insurance or not, your initial call should be to a Michigan motorcycle accident attorney. Your insurance may be enough to cover some of your losses or the cost of fixing your bike, but you will likely have to file suit to get fully compensated for your medical bills, lost wages, pain and suffering, and more. You need the services of an experienced motorcycle law firm to assess your case. These types of cases can be very difficult and complicated, and you should not attempt to go up against a large insurer on your own. Many times, they will try to place blame on the rider in order to limit the liability of their client.
