Grandville, MI (July 12, 2023) - A wheelchair-bound pedestrian was killed after being hit by a motor vehicle in Grandville on Tuesday, July 11.

The fatal accident occurred at the corner of Wilson Avenue and Prairie Street at around 10:03 a.m. A driver reportedly made a left turn at the intersection when a 58-year-old Edmore man in a wheelchair was struck by the vehicle. The injured party was taken to a local hospital in serious condition, where he later succumbed to his injuries.

The driver of the vehicle was not hurt and is cooperating with authorities. The identity of the deceased party has been withheld.

An ongoing investigation into the cause of the deadly pedestrian crash is underway.
