The Insurance Information Institute reported that 10% of all fatal motor vehicle accidents in 2020 involved head-on collisions, and these crashes are some of the deadliest possible. Statistics further show that head-on collisions caused 3,631 fatalities and tens of thousands of injuries. This is despite the fact that these types of crashes make up less than 2% of all reported car accidents in the United States that year. Negligent drivers often cause head-on crashes by swerving into oncoming traffic or failing to keep on the right side of the roadway. It is always hard to deal with a family member's unexpected death.
