In the state of Michigan, car wrecks have been happening more frequently in recent years. In fact, car accidents are a leading cause of injury in the Wolverine State. Although there are plenty of safety regulations put in place to prevent car accidents, they still happen constantly.
Most of the time, unfortunately, auto collisions occur because people choose to act negligently while driving. If a driver allows themselves to become distracted in any way while they are driving, they may fall under the category of “negligent driver.” Texting, talking on the phone, and fiddling with the radio are all potentially dangerous activities to engage in while behind the wheel.
Drivers who decide to operate motor vehicles while they are intoxicated are taking part in the most deadly behavior a driver can engage in. Driving while drunk/high ends more lives than any other type of driver negligence.
A negligent driver can wreak havoc on your life–maybe one already has. Accidents caused by negligence land thousands of people in the hospital each year. Car accidents are caused by many different things, driver negligence being the main cause that accounts for more than 90%.
If your life has been disrupted because of an auto accident caused by driver negligence, it is important to understand that you have options. Personal injury law in Michigan says that an individual who has been injured in an accident can file a civil lawsuit in court and receive a legal remedy for damages that stem from the accident. You have options that will help you recover physically, financially, and possibly even emotionally.
