Holland, MI (March 18, 2022) - A car accident between a stolen 2018 Nissan Versa and a 2011 Dodge Caravan took place in Holland on March 16.

Information from officials reveals that the driver of the stolen Versa, identified as a 21-year-old Kalamazoo man, was approached by police at approximately 3:00 a.m. on Wednesday while illegally parked in the stolen vehicle.

At approximately 8:15 a.m., the stolen Versa was spotted by a policeman who initiated a pursuit. The suspect sped away from the officer, ran two stop signs at Central Avenue and River Avenue, and collided with a 2011 Dodge Caravan.

The Caravan was occupied by a 35-year-old Fennville resident. He sustained no injuries in the wreck.

It was later discovered by police that the Versa was occupied not only by the male driver but also by two females, one of whom was pregnant. Due to the collision, the females, aged 16 and 17, both sustained injuries. The 17-year-old was reported to have sustained serious injuries as well as a miscarriage due to the accident.

Both teenagers were taken to Holland Hospital to be treated for the injuries they sustained in the wreck. The suspect was also transported to Holland Hospital with injuries. He was arrested after leaving the hospital and booked in Ottawa County Jail.
