No matter where a fire starts, it can be extremely dangerous. Fire departments throughout the United States receive approximately 354,000 reports of residential structure fires each year. Victims of major fires often suffer injuries such as smoke inhalation, second and third-degree burns, and sometimes emotional problems like PTSD may occur depending on the circumstances of the accident. According to statistics, structure fires kill an average of 2,620 civilians each year and injure another 11,220 people across the country.
